Your key duties will include:
- Investigating and assessing financial losses from inception to settlement, ensuring a thorough review of accounting records, third-party information, and general enquiries.
- Evaluating and identifying the real economic impact of insured incidents to enable informed decision-making by stakeholders and minimize risks.
- Negotiating claim quantum with brokers, lawyers, accountants, and corporate management.
- Collaborating closely with claimants and adjusters, and, at times, as part of a larger accounting team, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish.
- Looking beyond the numbers, conducting research on market trends, industry information, and interviewing stakeholders such as business owners, vendors, and employees.
- Providing expert advice and support to policyholders, examining claims forms, policies, and endorsements to determine coverage, and setting appropriate loss reserves.
- Serving as an expert witness in legal proceedings when required.
Required Skills:
- Strong forensic accounting experience
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior experiene training junior members
- Ability to interpret complex financial and non-financial data and make informed decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, adjusters, and other stakeholders.
- Comfort in presenting findings as an expert witness in legal settings.
- High attention to detail with the ability to look beyond financial records to uncover essential information.
