The role - Azure Staff Engineer/Architect
We're looking for an Azure Staff Engineer - a senior Azure position within the organization, playing a crucial role in shaping their Azure Cloud Capability and Cloud Centre of Excellence.
This role directly reports to the Group Director of IT & Operations, based in Amsterdam.
Key Responsibilities
- You're at the forefront of the Azure Cloud Strategy; you'll be advising other OpCos (in for example Portugal and Spain) on how to implement the Azure Cloud Infrastructure
- You'll be working on carrying the Azure message throughout the organisation, laying the Azure Foundation based on best practices
- You're highly technical and hands-on within the Azure space working on Engineering and Architectural frameworks
Overview of the role
- Azure Environment Design & Oversight: Develop, implement, and enhance Azure infrastructure to establish robust, secure, and scalable environments for various business needs.
- Network Configuration & Security Management: Oversee network security configurations, including Azure Firewall operations, to maintain a high-security posture in collaboration with external partners.
- Policy Governance & Compliance Standards: Define and enforce cloud governance standards, ensuring compliance and secure configurations across the cloud infrastructure.
- Automation Strategy & Execution: Utilize tools such as Azure Automation, Bicep, and PowerShell to drive process automation, reduce manual effort, and optimize cloud operations.
- Team & Partner Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver advanced cloud solutions and support strategic initiatives.
- Cloud Transition Planning & Execution: Lead cloud transition projects, planning and executing seamless migrations from legacy on-premises systems to Azure.
- Architectural Framework Development: Design and deploy comprehensive cloud architecture frameworks tailored to evolving business demands.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within the Azure environment to ensure high performance and reliability.
Who are we looking for?
- You have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience within the Azure space
- You are excited to take a lead role and forefront position within the organization
- You are strong with stakeholder management and have excellent communication skills
- You have experience working in an environment that went through an Azure migration
- Ideally, you have set up / worked in a Cloud Centre of Excellence environment
- You have excellent knowledge about Azure Automation (Powershell, ARM templates, Bicep), Azure Landing Zones, Azure Firewall, Azure Policies, Azure migrations, Azure Cloud Architecture frameworks, Azure troubleshooting complex challenges and issues, Azure Security
- Preferable: you have exposure to O365, Microsoft 365 environment
- Your education: Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or related
- Plus: relevant certifications within Azure Architecture
