The role involves conducting valuations of complex securities for investment companies, including hedge funds and business development companies (BDCs). These securities may include illiquid assets such as bank loans, subordinated debt, and equity in privately held companies.
This position offers the chance to work closely with senior professionals, applying expertise in financial modeling and valuation to support a diverse range of top-tier clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage valuation research, including analysis of valuation drivers, cost of capital for private equity/credit, and industry/market evaluations.
- Collect and document data from client interactions to support valuation conclusions.
- Build, modify, and utilize financial models, including DCF, market multiples, and option valuations.
- Assist in managing client relationships and contribute to new business development.
- Supervise and guide analysts and associates in valuation analysis and judgment calls.
- Prepare and review detailed valuation reports and effectively communicate findings to clients.
- 5-7 years of experience in valuation and financial modeling.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- CFA/ASA designation preferred; CAIA or progress toward it a plus.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
